The financier acquired a smaller island - the Little St James - originally in the late 1990s, but subsequently obtained the more expansive Great St James in 2016 for around $22.5 million.
This visual evidence reveal he had drawn up ambitious plans to transform the sprawling island by building residences, an performance venue, an office beneath the waves and a reservoir.
